While I should not complain that we have finally received some cold weather because its nothing compared to what is going on up north. I have fished a few colder days and the redfish. trout and sheephead are cooperating as well as a few pompano. On these colder days i am mainly fishing with jigs tipped with shrimp and working them slow. The fish slow down in the cold weather so we must adapt as well. The other day just before the cold front got here i loaded up on white bait(pilchards) and headed for the skinny water where we caught lots of reds, some oversize and some really nice trout. What a lot of fun catching those fish on the flats. Its winter and a bit chilly but the fishing is solid.
